The Weed Killing Experts
The dictionary contains many definitions of the noun "weed"; however, two appropriate descriptions are that a weed is "a plant growing in the wrong place" or "a plant growing in a place set aside for other plants".
Weeds compete with crops or pasture plants for water, light and minerals. They may taint produce such as grains, milk or meat, which causes them to be unfit for human consumption. They may also harbour pests and diseases that spoil useful plants. Some weeds are poisonous to humans and livestock, or result in adverse health issues such as hay fever. Dense-growing weeds may block the movement of livestock to water or other areas; others obstruct irrigation inlets and impede water flow in irrigation channels and drainage ditches.
